Whistler is an amazing place to live or visit. And with the upcoming Olympics, Whistler is the place to be this winter. Because of that there is a major housing shortage this year (OK, there normally is a shortage, but this year is the worst I've seen in the 12 years I've been here). Landlords that post ads in the Pique or on Craigslist get swamped with 50-100 calls or emails in the first day from what I've been hearing.

If I were a landlord, I'd be weary of putting my phone number in an ad...who wants that many phone calls? Email isn't much better. When I put an ad in the Pique last summer it was a major hassle trying to figure who was the best candidate with so many emails to go through. There had to be a solution! Well I decided to make one, connectwhistler.ca was born.

It's as easy as this:

1. Sign up for an account and post your property details. You can even set up filters to automatically sort through the applications for you!
   
   
2. Click the icon next to your property to post it to the Pique or Craigslist.
   
   
3. Log back into your account a few days later and you'll most likely have quite a few applicants to choose from, nicely laid out so you can easily find the applicant that you are looking for. And of course the filters will help you out too!
   
   
4. Optionally click the icon next to the applicant you select. They will be notified of their successfully application. All other applicants that didn't qualified will also be notified of your decision.

Of course you may want to meet some of the applicants in person before you make your final decision. Our system allows you to send private messages back and forth to help facilitate this process.

Renters, this site will also save you time. Once you create your profile you will only be a few clicks away from applying for rentals. It will save you time and if you are a good prospective tenant you will have a better chance of finding a rental. With landlords able to see all your details without being swamped by emails or phone calls they will be able to make a better decision on who to rent to. No longer will you feel like you were never given a fair chance.
